"Armant Group, also known as “Nile Ladies”, was established in 2013, in Luxor, Egypt. They are specialized in embroidered products such as bags, keychains, purses, and many more. This craft is very sensitive as women use needles to knit yarns and threads and this kind of work requires an eye catching to details. The scenes they create on the products reflect the heritage and rural scenes of Egypt. The group of women were trained by monks from Spain and Ecuador, the members of the Armant Group have achieved a level of quality in their embroidery products that is unmatched in Egypt. With a diverse range of products and exceptional material quality, they're making a significant impact. With 25 women and 1 man, this dedicated team was formed, the Armant Group embodies the spirit of unity and empowerment. Since 2018, Nile Ladies group and Fair Trade Egypt have been collaborating together. Fair Trade Egypt worked on developing their capacity building and introduced new designs to the groups from modern geometrical designs to Ancient Egyptian inspired collections. With this remarkable cooperation, we’re committed to serving their community through their skilled craftsmanship and grant them the support they need in order to improve their standard of living."
