"Dar Gallery group is a small enterprise dedicated to producing crochet products of all kinds, they’re resident in Fustat, near Cairo. They make tote bags, purses, clutches, keychains, and many more innovative products. The process is very sensitive and requires a lot of patience and excellence, they use a crochet hook to interlock loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other materials. 30 women are working in this group, a group that is located in different areas of Cairo mainly in Helwan as mentioned. They first started working seeking stable income for their families but they ended up succeeding and striving for more and more successes. Due to their hard work and dedication, they could fortunately reach the real market and began to sell their products in a promising manner. A collaboration between Fair Trade Egypt and Dar Gallery had started in 2020, and from that time on, developments and achievements have been happening. We also helped them create a legal institute of their own, in addition to getting bigger chances of marketing and selling their work in a short time, and now they have a broader market access."
